• Regenerative Braking: Tesla’s regenerative braking system captures energy during deceleration, helping to recharge the battery. This may feel different from traditional braking, so take some time to get used to it.

Charging the Tesla

• Supercharger Network: Tesla’s Supercharger network provides fast and convenient charging on long trips. Use the Tesla navigation system to locate nearby Superchargers.
• Charging Etiquette: When using public charging stations, be mindful of charging times and move your vehicle once charging is complete.
• Range and Battery: The range of your Tesla will vary depending on driving conditions and usage. Keep an eye on the battery level displayed on the touchscreen.

Essential Features and Tips

• Autopilot (Traffic Aware Cruise Control or Autosteer) & Full Self-Driving (Supervised): If your rental is equipped with Autopilot, it can assist with steering, accelerating, and braking within its limitations. If your rental is equipped with Full Self Driving (Supervised), it can provide more advanced assistance while navigating city streets and making turns.”Supervised” is critical: Even with FSD, the driver must remain actively engaged and ready to take control at all times. It is not, currently, fully autonomous driving.
• Navigation: Tesla’s navigation system provides real-time traffic updates and Supercharger locations.
• Climate Control: Adjust the temperature and fan speed using the touchscreen. Preconditioning the car while plugged in will save battery life.
• Tips for Efficient Driving: To maximize your range, avoid aggressive acceleration, use regenerative braking, and maintain a consistent speed.
